The movie version of "The Great Gatsby," is based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel. The story is about Jay Gatsby, a self-made American whose idealization of love leads to his downfall. Though Gatsby desires true love from Daisy, Daisy is infected by the materialistic thinking and way of life of the rich and famous, so much so that she is unable to feel true love. Thus, Gatsby’s flaw is that he believes that being wealthy makes it possible to rub elbows with the wealthy and to find true love with Daisy.
